Abstract:
These lecture notes provide the background material for the course given at the IPhT in November/December 2023. We attempt to give a self-contained overview of the state-of-the-art understanding of this topic, with an emphasis on the computation of worldsheet correlation functions, describing its almost 25-year-long rich history alongside a number of important recent developments.
