Entanglement stands as the necessary quantum resource for efficient quantum computation. A modest version of a type of quantum computation consists of engineering the interactions of a quantum system under control in order to simulate another quantum system. Different options for these quantum simulators are now being experimentally analyzed. In this talk, we shall review some entanglement properties of many-body systems and, then, focus on different ideas to implement quantum simulators.
