Loop quantum gravity: recent results

			I present an overview of the present state of the attempt to write a
a consistent nonpertubative quantum theory for the gravitational
field using the loop approach. The last five years have seen
several results in the covariant version of the formalism and I
focus on these. I also present the very recent derivation of the 
exact Bekenstein-Hawking black-hole entropy formula by Eugenio Bianchi.
