Transport processes on spatial networks are representative of a broad class of real world systems that are often interdependent. Since all but a few special cases resist comprehensive mathematical analysis, the characteristics of relevant systems are explored via simulation. Effective measures of coupling and utility are introduced that allow for the identification of regimes that are otherwise overlooked by traditional percolation- or sandpile-based approaches.
