Title: Superconducting qubits: overview, challenges, solutions ?
--
Abstract: It was first demonstrated that an electrical component, namely a superconducting Josephson junction, can reach the quantum regime.
For the sake of implementing quantum computing, quantum bit circuits based on Josephson junctions were later operated using the Cooper Pair Box circuit developed in Quantronics. Small processors based on the transmon version of this circuit with progressively increasing qubit number have been operated worldwide during the last decade. It is now rather clear that quantum error correction is needed for addressing the scalability challenge and reaching quantum advantage. I will introduce the solutions presently investigated for addressing this issue.
